Unit Objectives:

  In this unit students will review some of the basic concepts of Spanish that will help the student be successful in communicating in the language.  At the end of this unit students will be able to:​​​
  • Communicate about their travels and vacations they have taken.
  • Tell a story about themselves and others of things that have happened on a trip.
  • Give and receive directions around town.
  • Tell the order in which they did activities on a vacation.
  • Tell someone what they bought at a store.
  • Understand the nature of bartering in Spanish Speaking countries.
Students will review the following grammatical concepts to be able to accomplish the above big ideas of the unit. ​​
  • Comprehensive study of the Preterit and how it is used in language, both in Spanish and English.
  • Study of the Imperfect Tense and its function in telling a story.
  • Understanding the differences between the Preterit and Imperfect, when to use each tense when telling a story or experience in the past.
  • Use of the Present, Past and Future Perfect to communicate what they have done, will have done or had done.
  • Use of the Demonstrative Adjectives (this, these, that, those, those over there, etc.)
